How we work

Skyforma was started in 2018 by a Manchester-born English teacher and three Malaysian parents who wanted a calmer way to learn. Today our pedagogy team designs every plan around four ingredients: a kind mentor, conversational input, written self-noticing, and weekly review.

Are the tutors actually native speakers?
Every Skyforma mentor was born in or has spent more than a decade in an English-majority country (UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Ireland). All hold a recognised teaching qualification (CELTA, DELTA, TESOL or TEFL) and we publish their certificates on each profile page.
How does the free trial work?
Pick a tutor, choose a 25-minute slot, fill out a short brief. The session is a real lesson, not a sales pitch — the tutor maps your CEFR level, agrees a draft plan, and sends a written summary the same day. If you don't continue, you keep the assessment.
How much does a programme cost?
Pricing depends on the format and number of lessons. Prime One-to-One starts at MYR 92 per session in a 24-lesson pack. Conversation circles and children's club are cheaper because they run in small groups. Full pricing is on each course page and confirmed in the plan you receive after the trial.
Can I reschedule a lesson?
Yes, up to four hours before the lesson, from your learning space. Lessons cancelled later than that are deducted from your pack unless your tutor agrees a one-off exception (illness, urgent work matters, etc.).
Do you teach business English specifically?
The Business English Programme is the most common path for working adults in Malaysia. It blends one-to-one mentoring with a Tuesday/Thursday group sprint of professionals who practise negotiation, presentations and written communication together.
What if my child is shy on camera?
Our children's mentors are trained primary teachers. Lessons start with a familiar story or song, the camera is optional for the first three sessions, and parents are welcome to watch in silence. Most children join the conversation by lesson three or four.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes — full details live in our refund policy. In short, unused lessons in a pack can be returned within 30 days of purchase, less administrative fees.
